Interestingly my urologist, the chair of the European Urology Association recently concluded some research that demonstrated the effect of phages for use against common UTI bacteria and the results were extremely positive. Hopefully additional studies will lead to RCTs and the eventual use of phages in Western medicine.
The fascinating thing about military history is that there always seems to be more to learn, thanks for sharing this. I did notice that cholera seems to be the go to choice for training exercises because the treatment regime is so well established and won’t hijack the rest of exercise.

Thanks for sharing Jonn. This is so interesting. Off to find the book.

Excellent choice. Dare I say it but general interest in phages seems to be increasing.
First team to create a more generalist - but not too generalist - phage will be a great new tool in the toolbox.
Have you read Bill Duncan’s Wee book of Calvin? It’s quite illuminating about our Northern cousins.
